Dhammacakka Day on Fullmoon Day of Waso
All Buddhist devotees gave respect to the full-moon day
of Waso till today. "Dhammacakka Day" commemorates
the preaching of the First Sermon known as Dhamma-cakkappavattana Sutta to his first five disciples in Sarnath,
at Isipathana, near Benares, India. On the same full moon day:
(1) In Maha Era 67, Fullmoon day of Waso, Thursday,
Siddhattha was conceived.
(2) In Maha Era 97, Fullmoon day of Waso, Monday,
Siddhattha entered as a recluse.
(3) In Maha Era 103, Fullmoon day of Waso, Saturday,
the Buddha first preached the Dhammacakkappavattana
(4)In Maha Era 109, Fullmoon day of Waso, the Buddha suppressed the heretics in Micchaditthi by the manifes-
tation of super-natural power.
