႐ွင္တစ္ေထာင္ေန႔
Day of Shin Tahtaun
၁၃၇၆ ခုႏွစ္၊ ျပာသိုလျပည့္ ၁၅ ရက္၊ တနဂၤေႏြ။

On the banks of the river, Nerañjarā, there lived three brothers
of ascetic. Their names were Uruvela Kassapa, Nadi Kassapa
and Gaya Kassapa. Uruvela Kassapa lived with five hundred
disciples. Nadi Kassapa and Gaya Kassapa lived with three
hundred and two hundred disciples respectively. The Buddha
visited and gave them his teachings. Then Uruvela Kassapa,
his two brothers and all their pupils became devotees of the
Buddha's Dhamma and were all ordained. Thereupon the
Buddha preached again to them the Fire Sermon (āditta-pariyāya),
and they all attained arahantship. From that day onwards,
it was known to be called “the day of Shin Tahtaun on the
full-moon day of Phyatho” in Myanmar.
